Icon Tutorial 1
- Crop your image to the part of the image you want just MAKE SURE that the width and hieghts are the SAME!
- Now go to IMAGE > RESIZE and change the height and width to 100, OKAY
- Your image should be smaller. Now click the zoom icon and zoom it 3 – 5 times.
- If you need to touch up the photo just follow this link for instructions: http://www.stardust-designs.com/. If not click the selection tool, make it CIRCLE, and feather 0.
- Make a circle around the persons face. If its not a person skip this step and go to 11
- Press Control C and then Control v. The circles should appear as a new picture.
- Go to Image > resize and change your settings to: height: 50 width:50
- Press Control A and then click anywhere on the circles. Dotted lines should appear around the circles. Now go to Selection >> Modify >> Contract : Number of Pixels : 1. Go to Adjust >> Sharpness >> Sharpen. Right click anywhere to deselect the selection.
- Press Control C to copy the circles. Go back to the icon and go to Layers >> New Raster Layer (use default settings). Paste the circle onto the icon. Then arrange the circle in one of the corners of the icon.
- Merge layers flatten
- Click the A to add text. Using a cursive font type the persons name (first and last) around the circle.
- Now add brushes. Then go to ADJUST > BRIGHTNESS AND CONTRAST > AUTOMATIC CONTRAST ENHANCEMENT, set the settings as you wish.
